RAM (Random Access Memory):

ROM (Read Only Memory):

    ROM stands for Read Only Memory. It is a non-volatile memory, which means that it retains its data even when the power is turned off. ROM is used to store the data that is essential for the device to function, such as the BIOS (Basic Input Output System), the firmware, and the operating system. ROM cannot be modified or erased by the user, unlike RAM. The data in ROM is usually written by the manufacturer or the developer of the device.


    The main difference between RAM and ROM is that RAM is faster, but temporary, while ROM is slower but permanent. RAM allows you to run multiple programs and files at once, but it needs constant power to keep its data. ROM stores the basic data that allows your device to boot up and operate, but it cannot be changed or updated by you. Both types of memory are essential for your device to work properly.
